Igor Soarez

I'm an engineer based in London with over 15 years of experience building and operating platforms at scale. I spent over six years at Apple building and operating what grew into one of the largest Apache Kafka deployments in the world and became a committer on the project. I'm equally drawn to building on my own and have shipped product solo. These days I split my work time between consulting and my own projects, lately around AI agents and the infrastructure they run on. Outside work: jiu-jitsu, snowboarding, music, and green tea. Most importantly, I'm a father to two very young kids and that keeps everything else in perspective.
